Smartphones

Apple with its iPhone has for sure changed the landscape of smartphones business and now a whole new era of new devices with focus on User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) are seeing the daylight. I just received the Palms Pre video presentation by the Palms management team from a friend and its very imprecise what they have archived with the new product.

It offers a 3.1-inch touch screen, a 3MP camera (better than iPhone) and a slide out QWERTY keyboard (some will cheer, but not really necessary any longer). The apps apparently can be easily navigated on a flowing carousel-like stream that glides across the screen. It also features an "Opera speed dial" or Chrome-like bookmarks interface.

So the race is on and the Apple, RIM and Palm they all wan to get in to the mobile market business and will make the life harder for Nokia, Motorola and SonyEricsson
